who wants a boost?

1. what are boosters?
as we all get older, our skin unfortunately ages and changes too. but fear not before you turn to injectables, we have a solution for you.
boosters. what is a booster? I hear you ask. it’s actually your secret weapon to staying young (think the evil mum in tangled using Rapunzel's hair to stay young but without the evil bit).
everyone's skin is different and needs different things to help it glow and outshine everyone else. in this way, boosters will help target your skin's concern whilst improving the performance of your regular skin care routine.
with their special powers, in the form of a highly concentrated hero ingredient, (not all heroes wear capes you know), our boosters can work on most skin types so you can pick ‘n’ mix them for a customised approach.
2. how to choose the right booster for you?
3. what do they do? who are they for?
got it like that - 2% bakuchiol booster
this little bright green bottle is the answer to all of your prayers. it is an alternative to retinol, you know the one that’s harsh on the skin and burns if you have sensitive skin, and acts just like traditional retinol but doesn’t irritate your skin.
how? bakuchiol, our lord and saviour. this plant-based ingredient boosts your glow, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, treats acne and brightens dull skin! for real.
dry and sensitive skin: gently smooths the skin without irritating
acne prone skin: normal retinoids can cause irritation, redness, itchiness and flakiness. bakuchiol does the same job as traditional retinol but without the bad side effects which could make acne even worse.
dull/mature skin: fights signs of ageing (fine lines and wrinkles)
crush on me 10% niacinamide anti blemish booster
does a product that regulates oil production, fades hyperpigmentation, soothes redness, protects the skin from air pollution and hydrates the skin sound too good to be true? if you said yes you may as well buy this now to prove yourself wrong (can’t believe you’d ever doubt us). this miracle in a bottle contains niacinamide (vitamin B3) which will transform your skin and is safe on any skin type. raspberries are one of the only fruits that naturally contains salicylic acid which work wonders for acne prone skin, so we added a splash of them too. you’re welcome in advance.
oily skin : improves excess sebum production which leads to overly oily skin
acne prone skin: indirectly helps with acne by protecting your skin from pollution/sunlight and improving excess sebum production
dull/mature skin: reduces the appearance of enlarged pores and fine lines.
did you know the same vitamin c that’s in your favourite skincare products is the same vitamin c that turns copper green? NOT OUR ONE THOUGH! thanks to sea buckthorn, a plant-based ingredient, our light up booster is full of vitamin c and gives the skin all the refreshing and glowing goodness our competitors can’t. sea buckthorn contains up to 15 times more vitamin C than an orange per 100g it packs, got some welly this one.
dull/ mature skin: reduces the look of sun damage, brightens the skin, helps production of new skin cells.
come clean - 15% lactic acid gentle peeling booster
do you get red, itchy, breakouts and irritation from exfoliating? sorry can’t relate we’ve been using our come clean booster in our skin care routines and our skin is (cue Beyonce) shinin’ shinin’ shinin’ shinin’ yeahhh. the clean booster uses lactic acid to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and leaves the skin silky soft. on top of eliminating dead skin cells, it can help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. lactic acid is naturally found in dairy products which explains why Cleopatra used to bathe in milk (we have to stan a natural beauty queen).
acne prone skin: exfoliates away dead skin cells that can clog pores, best used with spf as new skins cells are more vulnerable to UV rays
dull/mature skin: helps even skin tones, hyperpigmentation and dark spots by promoting skin cell turnover
recovery on -exfoliating 10% glycolic acid
glycolic acids are naturally found in plants and fruits like pineapple and grapes. they do god’s work for your skin. blackheads, blemishes and uneven complexion will be taken care of, all while smoothing the skin and leaving it polished. the glycolic acid works by dissolving the glue that holds together your dead skin cells(ew ikr), thus increasing collagen production and not tearing apart your skin like other exfoliating products we could mention … *cough cough* st ives *ahem cough cough*
acne prone skin: removes dead skin cells and unclogged pores and reduces blemishes and blackheads
oily skin :helps remove excess sebum and turns over new skin cells
dull/mature skin: promotes collagen production which helps plump the skin
basic b*tch hydrating and plumping 3% hyaluronic acid and 2% vitamin B5
they say that the key to having good skin is drinking water and minding your business but for some people that isn’t enough…ahem katie hopkins *cough cough* which is why we made our basic b*tch booster. over time our skin finds it harder to retain water. by applying hyaluronic acid to the skin, it gives it an instant hit of hydration. think taking that first gulp of water the morning just after a heavy night out vitamin b5 helps keep the water in so you stay hydrated from the inside. it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with redness and irritation. in the words of Saweetie “that’s my best friend, she a real bad bitch”, and she can be yours too.
dry and sensitive: rehydrates the skin and keeps the moisture locked in
dull/mature: extra hydration to plump your skin and give it a healthy glow
4. how do boosters fit into your routine?
there are 2 easy ways to use a booster. mixed in with your moisturisers/serums for a quick boost, or as a standalone step in your skincare routine - after cleansers and toners is best but before oils and moisterisers. this is also the best way for using a few boosters in one routine to target more issues. for example…
suggested daytime routine:
- mum’s right cleanser
- grow the f*** up toner
- BOOSTER
- serum
- oh boy matcha face moisturiser
- wear sunscreen daily spf
suggested nighttime routine
- mum’s right cleanser
- grow the f*** up toner
- serum
- not a one night stand moisturiser + BOOSTER

6. how else can I use my booster?
it’s not just the skin on our face that needs taking care of, our bodies need some TLC too. this is why we’re letting you in on a major secret skincare brands don’t want you to know. YOU CAN USE YOUR FACE PRODUCTS ON YOUR BODY TOO THEY JUST WANT TO SELL MORE AND GET MORE DOLLARS
yes you heard us right, you can use our boosters on your body too, let us enlighten you:
recovery on can be used to exfoliate your scalp before washing your hair. drop a few drops on the area you’re dandruff\ flakey prone. leave on for 10 - 15 mins and let it do its thing (it’ll feel a bit tingly but it’s just working its magic). simply shampoo and condition and you’re ready to go
another way to use recovery on is mixing it with your body moisturiser. we know exactly what it’s like to exfoliate the actual crap of your skin before you shave or fake tan (to a non racial ambiguous colour might we add). but having dry skin that can sometimes build up and clog the pores on your legs or bum, or anywhere really, can be the most annoying thing to get rid of.
to be honest we probably don’t realise it's happening. like when winter comes and our legs stay unshaven for 3 months. trying to exfoliate your skin with scrubs and coffee beans just isn’t enough unless you want to pay big bucks for a special aha exfoliator or moisturiser that probably won’t last that long. by mixing a few drops of recovery on in your moisturiser it can help produce new skin cell turnover revealing soft, bump free, smooth skin you’ll be ready for a venus razor advert. we recommend doing this once a week and not to use harsh scrubs at the same time.
7. top tips
- bring into your routine gradually. start 2 or 3 three times a week.
- in the day time apply sunscreen because new skin cells are damaged easily by UV rays.
- use where needed or all over the body.
- your skin might look like it’s breaking out at first, but it’s just the boosters doing their magic and bringing out all the nasty stuff in your skin quicker than usual. this is called purging.. (obvs if you think you’re having a reaction stop using the product)
- add acids into your routine gradually (crush on me, recovery on, come clean). using them everyday morning and night can do some serious damage and repairing the damage caused from over exfoliating can take a long time .
- start using an acid based booster once a week, then 2 to 3 times a week.
-
don’t use physical exfoliants while using chemical exfoliants as you can damage your skin this way too. by over-exfoliating you can cause your skin to go into overdrive and produce more oils to make up for the sudden loss, leading you back to where you started.
8. final takeaway
if that hasn’t convinced you to head over to our serums and boosters page ... wait… of course it has.
the boosters honestly save you money on paying for multiple products you don’t need by easily mixing into the ones you already have. they’re so easy to add into your skincare routine and results can occur in as little as 2 weeks.
for real though we hope we have made you a pro in all things boosters. any other questions, just let us know in the comments section.
